Meghan Stetson, LPCC, EdM, MA, RYT-500, created Centered Education after over 17 years in higher education where she witnessed the enormous anxiety surrounding today’s ultra-competitive admissions landscape. She spent four years as an Admissions & Financial Aid Officer at Harvard University and has advised both domestic and international high school students through the US college application process for many years. Meghan has worked at universities globally including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hamilton College, and Summerfuel @ Oxford University as a teacher, mentor, sports writer, and coach, and she is now a practicing psychotherapist in Denver, Colorado.

What Meghan witnessed in her many years in the field was an increasingly competitive admissions landscape that fueled developing teens to suffer with chronic stress, anxiety, a competitive mindset, and an outward focus of trying to please others. Instead, teens should be embracing this process as the rite of passage that it is meant to be, filled with joyful exploration, love of life, curiosity, and excitement. Meghan created Centered Education out of the recognition for this shift. Her greatest hope is for her students to head off to college confidently, with a greater understanding of who they are and who they are intentionally becoming.
